VANDALFEST2025 Is Back And We Want You To Be Part of It!

VANDALFEST (previously Rise of the Vandals) is coming back to York this summer and it’s going to be even bigger, louder and more creative than last year.

If you went to Rise of the Vandals in 2024, you’ll already know this isn’t just an art exhibition – it’s an experience! Four massive floors of music, street art, DJs, and a huge pop-up shop full of cool prints, merch and original artwork.

This year’s twist? Not only is SASH getting its own art installation but we also want our young people to be a part of the artwork creation for the event. That means you could get involved in creating something that thousands of people will see.

Please note - It’s an old building so access is stairs only to all floors.

How to get involved:

There are 3 ways for you to get involved in this year's event!

Working with graffiti artist and video game enthusiast, Chu, on Friday 4th July.

This is an interactive drop in session from 10am – 4pm, young people will work with Chu, helping him to complete his geometric artwork by painting in sections of his work on floor two. Check out his work from last years event below! Sign up for this event under 'Events' on the homepage of the SASH.
Submitting a piece of artwork you have either already created or want to create specifically for the event.

This option allows you to create your own artwork independently and in your own time. This can be a sketch, painting, scribble or doodle - anything you want to share! Please get in touch with your Placement Coordinator if you'd like to get involved this way and they will provide the relevant materials and equipment. All artwork must be completed by Saturday 28th June.
We need 1-4 young people to come to the site to graffiti and decorate old furniture that is going to be used in the SASH installation!

Please get in touch with your Placement Coordinator if you'd like to get involved this way no later than Monday 9th June. This activity will take place Monday 9th - Saturday 28th June and will depend on if and how many young people want to get involved.
